Behind The Juicer: The Inspiration Behind Natural Junkie

Hey, it's Bria Campbell, the CEO and founder of Natural Junkie. I wanted to take a moment to share with you my personal journey into the world of juicing and why it has become such an important part of my life.

You see, I'm just like any other wife and mother out there, trying to lead my family towards a healthier lifestyle. But truth be told, I didn't always pay much attention to what we were eating or how I was feeding my loved ones. It wasn't that we ate terribly, but I wouldn't say we were eating healthy either. I had this idea in my mind that I wanted us to eat better and live healthier, but I didn't really know where to start. Like many of us, I just continued eating the same foods I grew up with.

But then, something happened that changed everything. It was a warm day in July 2022 when my husband suddenly experienced a terrible headache and blurry vision. It turns out he had been feeling this way for a few days, but he didn't mention it to me at all. I immediately sprang into action, finding him a primary care doctor and getting him an emergency appointment.

Now, let me tell you, convincing my husband to go to the doctor was no easy task. He had this aversion to doctors and would even go to a clinic he used to visit for sports physicals when he was younger. But this time, it was different. The doctors ran some tests and the results were shocking.

Not only did we find out that my husband had high blood pressure, which we already knew about, but he also had diabetes, a fatty liver, renal artery stenosis, and sleep apnea. The doctors even told us that he had a 60 to 70% chance of having a heart attack or stroke if he didn't change his life immediately. It was a wake-up call like no other.

My husband may have looked great on the outside because he worked out regularly, but on the inside, it was a different story. His diet, and mine as well, was far from healthy. I felt this immense responsibility to make a change, not only to save my husband's life but also to keep my children and myself healthy.

But let me tell you, getting my husband to change his eating habits was no walk in the park. He had a real love for junk food, cookies, cakes, candies, you name it. And I must admit, I loved my snacks too. But I knew that in order for both of us to embark on this healthy journey, I had to be the one to lead the way.

So, I took a stand. I said no to the unhealthy snacks and treats, even when my husband would come home with them. It wasn't easy, but I knew it was necessary. And little by little, we started making changes. We slowly ditched the junk food and looked for healthier alternatives. I did my research and found different recipes and options that satisfied our cravings in a healthier way.

Over the course of a year and a half, we transformed our eating habits. We kicked out the sugar and salt, and our taste buds adjusted. We no longer craved the unhealthy foods we once did. And the best part? My husband's health dramatically improved. No longer at risk of a heart attack or stroke, he became a living testament to the power of a healthy lifestyle.

Through this journey, Natural Junkie was born. It became more than just an idea in my head; it became my purpose in life. I've learned so much along the way, and my mission now is to share that knowledge with all of you. I want to help not only my family but also everyone else who wants to lead a healthier life.

I'm not a doctor, and I'm not here to give medical advice. But what I do want to do is inspire and motivate you to make changes that will lead to a longer, healthier life. Healthy living isn't a quick fix; it's a lifestyle. It's about fueling our bodies with nutritious foods and finding ways to stay active, whether that means going to the gym or simply taking a short walk every day.
